Do you use 1 or 2 curves to cut one freq range? And how much curve... Wide or narrow?
I mainly use my ears, and I understand that it depends on the curcumstances but there must be a guideline. Like never cut more then -6db.

Hope I make sence and some of you can help me out here. thnx

you want to cut rather than boost. also use a narrow Q.
Also if a element does not need bass cut it

I concur. However, I tend to do the opposite when it comes to kickdrums. Especially if I want to accent the snap, or click, in the kick sample. Adding a narrow boost around 1kHz usually makes it pop out more. Adjust Q until it sounds good =)

primary i use eq to cut synth from low to create space for bass, also, some times i use acid sweep synths and i cut their hi freq, because they sound too dirty with powerfull drums, example is my track DB_creator.. it's very loud, and drums spectrum is take a lot of width, but we could listen to bass or synth freely...
And... for bass - i cut it with hi-Q, but the curve of cutting synths is like ping noize

There isn't a real guideline for this kind of stuff. It all depends on the sound you want to create if you ask me. Personally I sometimes cut of a instrument on 8 different freqs to keep only a click or pop if you know what I mean, but you have to be carefull with cutting of to much. you also can influence the pitch, character and these sort of things. I remembering a great tutorial of the use Of EQ, will see if I can find and post it here.

The kitchen can be important too:)
